Brisket cheaper than Butt? Point the direction and I will follow. $3.69 for Choice everywhere I've looked. Maybe R.D. will have Prime for close to that. What are they selling for where you're at @travisstrick‌ ?

Just paid $1.99 (on sale) for Pork Shoulder Butt at Kroger in SE Michigan.

Brisket is $4-5+ here last time I looked (not recently).

This supply and demand thing is freakin' out my freak.  It doesn't make any sense in the meat world.

Texas has the highest brisket demand and the lowest prices.

I do know that last week the local Costco had prime packers for $3.79/# (up from $2.99/#) in Feb and that was within $0.20/# of forum posted Texas prices.  Pork here is running around $1.99/#-so the beef shortage is gaining traction faster than the piglet shortage of the Spring.  Regardless, it isn't going down any time soon.  And it reads like @fishlessman has about the best deal going.

Yep, Rouse's had single butts for 2.79, but if you bought a two-pack, they were 1.99.  Restaurant Depot has them for 1.99 as well.

Rouse's is also where I found the rib roast for $8/lb in the bargain meat bin.  It still had a week before the "use by" date, so I figure it's fine.  It's choice angus.

I'm seeing 4.99/lb for CAB brisket and 2-2.50/lb for pork butts in NE Wisconsin. For now I will stick to pork butts over briskets.
