Gasket fail..please help

Merry Christmas to all
I replaced my first LBGE gasket yesterday using the standard replacement gasket.
I scraped using straight edge razor, brushed with a wire brush and acetone.
Applied high heat spray adhesive.
My lid does have a 1/8 inch underbite.
After 30 minutes the back rim is loose and bunching up on the top.
What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?
I appreciate any help.

FWIW, the adhesive may not have had enough time to set up, particularly if the Egg was in a cool environment.
