Ribs with sugar late

I've been trying to get the mahogany color everyone wants on ribs. So here's what I tried and was pretty happy with the results.

Did the 3-1-1 method @250
Found a rub recipe and mixed everything up but the turbinado sugar.
After the 3 I sprinkled with sugar during the foil with butter only.
Then then the last 1 was more like 20 mins where I sprinkled lightly with more sugar and light sauce
Can't wait to try again just to make sure it produces same results.

    I also like it that color and not burnt looking. Going to have to try that. I dont foil so I would just shake it on or something the last hour or so .

    They turned out really nice looking- good tip! 

    Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

    Using some cherry wood will also help with that color.

    I've never used cherry, I will give it a try. I used peach.

    Mix the peach with the cherry, peach for flavor, cherry for color.
