Costco St Louis Cut Ribs

Hi I have cocked ribs many times with good results. I purchased two racks of St. Louis Ribs at Costco and they are already seasoned. When I opened the package they have a lot of sauce on them. I find I need 5 hours for side ribs. My concern is that the sauce may burn in that length of time. What do you guys think about indirect in a rack at 225 with a drip pan? I could just wash the ribs and dry rub them if you think they will burn?

    That's interesting...they actually sauced them?  Crazy question...but are you sure they are not pre-cooked?  

    If they are raw I think I might go with your second option- wash them then rub them.  Add sauce at the end if you like. 


    Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

    is there reheating directions on the package. if they are actually raw ribs you can foil them with the sauce and cook for a couple hours, then remove the foil and cook another hour til done to get some smoke on them, my brother cooks ribs that way

    If they are sauced I bet they are pre-cooked. If your sure they are raw ribs then I'd wash them off and dry them to get all the sauce off

    Yup, they are raw. It looked like they had a rub on them when I bought them but when I opened the pack they are sauced. I'm not sure they removed the membrane either?

    Cook them as low as you can cook -- indirect and keep an eye on them having some basting sauce on hand, until you wrap them..

    i would put them in a foil pan with the sauce and add applejuice to it, cover the pan with foil and add more juice as needed to prevent burning. cook at 300 for maybe 2.5 hours, remove from foil and back on the grill. they will pick up some smoke. next time dont buy those

    I washed them off and hit them with some dizzy dust. No way I could boil them in apple juice, maybe on the gasser. The membrane was still on them as well. They are on now and I'm sure they will be fine. I guess the time in the package with the sauce will work like a marinade!
