If you can, take ur eyes off the ham and look at
all the snow, But nothing stops the Egg :)

    You should consider wrapping your probs with a couple of layers of foil  -- just the portion inside the egg -- it's cheap protection to extend the life of your probes -- think they cost about $26.00, don't ask me how i know!!!  Biggest PITA is waiting for the new ones to arrive !! :((

    I do try to run the prob wires over the plate setter legs
    but pose puttin some foil over them wouldn't hurt
     :D:D

    I too route the cables over the plate setter's legs, but i too have a habit of enjoying a cold beverge as i cook, and i have to simplify every step -- and closing a hot egg sometimes requires quick action and that might allow that proble wire to move a couple of inches.....

    Looks good. But you do not need the wires at all. This is a very simple cook.
    I just sit mine on the grate, like I said: simple.
    Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

    I have a 12# naked ham on today also, running a little under 300 with cherry and a bit of hickory over WG WW. No snow on the ground here, but a few flakes have been floating through the air. I'm just glad the week of rain has stopped, but it looks like it will start again tomorrow for a few more days.

    Man -- your killing me ----  here i sit watching over two nine pound pork butts, which i have to transport to my buddy's house for his family -- i've been smelling this butt smoke the whole time i was mowing the lawn -- can't have any cold beverages since i have to drive --  AND you post this type of "food porn'  pictures???  Juice from the ham, now that's got to be heavenly !!!  :-B

    Mickey And thanks for turning me on to this simple cook, The in-laws thought it was great. I like the wires, like to be able to see how things are doing from inside the house, It's cold here w/LOTS of snow, Also I am a ham radio operator and kinda like gad-gits
