I had planned on posting pics of my table and maiden cooks from this weekend, but it looks like I was one of many first time eggers this past weekend.  I have had my sights set on a large big green egg since my family dragged me down to Eggtoberfest last year.  SWMBO advised that if I was planning on building a table then I had to build that first as she didnt want the egg sitting low where kids could reach.  I researched just about every table I could find on the internet then dove straight in to my first wood working project.  Took a lot of inspiration from fellow Yellow Jacket @ETBee (though nowhere near the craftsmanship).  Also picked up a tip from @nolaeggheadon wood expansion on that thread so I have the top secured with figure eight fasteners.  Table is cedar.  Used Kregg jigg for pocket hole joints so no exposed screws.  Lots of trial and error, but I'm quite happy with the result.

All egged up Friday night.

Went with spatchcok chicken over some potatoes for the first cook.  Turned out pretty good.

Sunday I dodged raindrops and cooked a rack of turbo ribs and some wings.  All were a hit.

Plated with some leftover potatoes.

Looking forward to lots more cooks in the future.
