Probably a silly question but what is e issue if its wet. I would think it would just dry out as it heats up.

Light your lump one place in the center, drop in the setter, legs down, close the bottom vent to about 1" and put on the daisy with just the petals open. The dome temp will slowly rise and when it is around 200, your setter will be dry.

I know the feeling. I also discovered that any crud from the previous cook seems to brush right of the warmed setter.

If it is porous enough to let water in, it is porous enough to let it out.  I just wouldn't put it into an already hot Egg due to shock.

I've dug mine out of a snowbank and thrown it on a raging egg with an inch of ice on it. No worries

Bet that cooled down the dome.  Maybe I should have frozen PS on hand in case I lose track and over heat when getting ready for a low and slow ;-)
