I just recently acquired an egg from my father who rarely used his. It had mold so I fired it up to about 700 degrees for 45 minutes and it is now cleaned out. It has the following issues:
  • The draft door is rusting away.
  • The felt seal is shot
  • The fire grate is cracked in half.
  • It needs a better nest
As far as the draft door - there is a dealer nearby that can order a new stainless steel one for me. My only concern is that I don't know how old this egg is and I hear that the older eggs have different draft doors. Any info on the draft door would be greatly appreciated.
I am going to replace the felt seal; does anyone have any recommendations on the best one?
I am going to purchase an iron fire
I also am going to purchase a plate setter.
Finally, I am putting together a design for a table
I also received the feet and I know those are rare...
