Has anybody cut there GrillGrates? I was wondering what tool you used to do so.
Mama always said, Grilling was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.

Plasma cutter?

Plasma cutters cut steel and cast iron like butter.

There is a more than one way to skin a cat, but I would think the most cost effective for you may be a sabre saw with a metal cutting blade. Definitely not as cool as a plasma cutter, but a lot easier on the wallet.

Hack saw, sawzall or even a grinder

Sawzall would be my second choice - http://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-48-00-1430-Tungsten-Carbide-Sawzall/dp/B00004U0U2

How about buying an XL Egg and you won't have to!

I used an old blade on my bandsaw. GrillGrates also recommends a miter saw with carbide blade but I only have one blade for mine and didn't want to risk dulling it. Aluminum is actually quite easy to cut with most wood working tools.Cedar Park, TX
