Mystery Object in the Charcoal

I bought a new bag of Big Green Egg charcoal over the weekend and when I poured out the contents into my charcoal container I found this:

It's not steel wool. It appears to be fiberglass insulation. Now I know that the folks on this forum have found some strange stuff in their bags of charcoal but has anyone ever come across something like this? Should I even use the charcoal that was mixed in with this? Thoughts?

I've found insulation in both BGE and RO. I don't see any reason for concern.

that's rock wool, it looks like. probably from the retort lining.

part and parcel with the way it's made. charcoal would be twice as expensive if we had to pay for it to be picked clean before bagging.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw it. I thought some critter met it's demise in a bag of lump. I'm sure it's happened.
