It has been hot and humid lately and my BGE is on my deck a few feet from the screen door to my house. The last few cooks I do turn my egg into the biggest fly lure ever! I had a few of those fly traps wit the bag and bait. They work well but the smell they give off is not something to have near the house. Any suggestions on getting rid of them!?

How about the fly traps that unfurl and hang from overhead? Also, a few cans of opened beer placed around the perimeter might work. It's kinda fun to watch them after a sip or two!! 8 - )

Go to a pet supply feed store and but a "Big Stinky". You will find out why it is called that once it fills with flies. You use gallon jars with bait in it to attract flies, They can get in but not out. Anyone who has kennels usually has one. It keeps flies from pecking on dogs ears.

we had similar problems with flies in the GA summer, so we tried the bag of water thing; that definitely does not work. so we resorted to making a compost pile on the other side of the yard (next to the bad neighbors fence) and using a hanging zapper at night. in addition to just keeping things clean, the fly problem died down.

I have a fly swatter outside and just ordered the Flowtron Electronic Bug Zapper. Also just making a bigger effort to keep the area clean of scrap, dispose of trash and plates quickly.

Did you make sure to add a coin to the bag of water. Seems to work down here, although our backyard does not have a fly problem, but restaurants with patios do it.Rowlett, Texas

I had the same trap, set it up on the other side of the yard. the flies will smell it, and flock there, but you shouldn't smell it.Bx - > NJ ->TX!!!All to get cheaper brisket!
