pork butt question

the trader joe's by me has half butts for sale, about 3-3.5 pounds a piece. I was thinking about picking up two rather than a full butt. I figure this has a dual benefit of being done faster and having twice as much bark. Is my logic here flawed at all?

Good question. When I smoke two pork shoulders it takes a few hours longer to get them done.plateau...

I'm doing two 3.5 pounds over a tiny 2.5 lb brisket flat now. I'll let you know how long they take.

Time line was about the same as a 5lb brisket I did the week before. Pork but took the same amount of time as the last 6.5lb butt i did.

Last time an under 4 pounder took me 10 hrs.

I turbo'd a 6.5 pounder Saturday, 6 hours. Turned out excellent.
