Some of our recent posts have made me think about some of the killer deals some of you have found.  I'm a little early in the game, so I don't have any BGE scores...but i'd love to hear some of yours.

Tell us about some of awesome deals or darn right goldmines you've found on eggs or BGE accessories.  Whether it was CraigsList, eBay, garage sales or dumb neighbors or friends of friends that didn't know what they were getting into.  What did you get and how much did you buy it for? :D

I got a demo egg from a store in ATL that had been cooked on twice... It was a large, had nest, egg mates, grill lifter, ash tool, ceramic top, daisy wheel, platesetter, and pizza stone for $700. A steal.

Wowzers!  That's what i'm talking about!  Did you have to do any modifications to the egg or was it in working order?

3 free Mini's last year and 4 free Mini's this year just for showing up in Salado in March. 7 deals for someone.......

Salado TX Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max (I'm good for now).

Fire bowl is cracked but other than that everything is in working order. I think it was the deal of a lifetime. I bought it from a guy who is a junk dealer that was paid to clean up a foreclosure. He wanted some quick Christmas cash and posted on CL, I think everyone assumed it was just another CL scam. I took the chance and drove 30 minutes to check it out.

  • Just picked up a large locally on CL for $50.00. Dome is cracked and needs a draft door but it was set in a wooden table with wheels so I figure with a little work I should have a sweet set up. Can't wait to be able to cook with it!

I've got some good deals on eBay, but you really have to pay attention to the shipping charges.

@Gato Heck of a find! I'm very jealous since I just paid twice what you did for my my small!

@Bubba12803 Niiiiice! Are you going to to a JP Weld or are you ordering a new dome from HQ? I check CL all the time and never find deals like that. Do you have a pic?

  • I am ordering a new dome from HQ. I will take some photos and post them on here because I want to document the before and after. I was just lucky when I stumbled across the CL ad because it was only 4 hours old and the guy was only 2 miles from my house. He was given the egg by his neighbor who moved out of the area. He said he and his wife tried to use it a couple of times. He said he did not like standing outside to grill. The table is weathered so I am going to work on getting that fixed up too. Will post photos soon.

Yeah cazzy, I was not looking for another egg. A friend of mine said his friend had one he had never used. By his description I thought it was a larger size. I just couldn't leave it there beside an old gasser that happened to be lit.

Bought a LG, new in the box from a man who won it in a contest for $500. Bought a Mini, new in a box from another man who won it also, for $280. Bought a 3 month old medium for $350. Another older mini for $140. A very used small for $175 and another 2 year old medium for $300. All of these were found on CL.
