Does anyone know how much the small weighs, is it easily transportable. I'm thinking of adding to my large , something that I can take camping or tailgating and also smaller meals at home and or cooking multiple things. The mini only weighs 30 lbs but looks like a small cooking surface! Any thoughts ?? Thanks

I want to say somewhere around 65lbs from what I remember - easy enough to transport - I was investigating in the past for the same reason - to transport.  Medium comes in around 100lbs, don't know large and the "XL" tank is 205lbs I think.

The small with everything in it is a little heavy but doable but I usually take the firebox and fire ring out and it's easy to pick up and move around. I have a small and mini and camp alot. I use the mini when it's just the 2 of us an the small when others come. We camp around lake Lanier alot and end up bringing the small more often now because friends always come hang out. The small is big enough that you can throw a shoulder on or a rack of ribs where you can't really do that on a mini. If you do decide on a small get the high que grate it really helps the air flow.
  • Thanks for the info

I have been wondering the same thing. Any other reasons a small wouldn't be easy to travel with? Seems like it may make more sense even though it has a little more bulk. I know the mini's are very popular.

My first egg 6 yrs ago was a small, them Large, then Mini. Just 2 of us and use the mini most of the time. Found I could get plenty for two on it. Sold Small and replaced with another Large. You just toss the Mini in the car to go anywhere. Now if you have three large people it gets tight.
Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

  • The small. Wouldn't go camping with out itimage
  • I've had the mini since thursday and wouldn't trade it for anything.  Perfect with my medium.
