Just wanted to feel others out about this product. I received it for Christmas as a gift. When I extend the handle from storage position to serving position I cannot get the handle to "lock" or tighten and so it bobbles the pizza making me nervous I'll drop it. Does anyone else experience this? Is the handle supposed to tighten fully into position so it doesn't move at all? If so I wonder if BGE will send me a new one if I send them this one...the local hardware store will not allow me to exchange without a receipt. :(

Could you give us a hint as to what product your are referring?Never eat anything passed through a window unless you're a seagull ... BGE Lg.

Yes. I'm sorry I should've been more specific. The pizza peel is what I was referring to. I really like the product, but am just concerned it is not functioning properly and wanted to gauge what others thought of it.
Thanks guys.

My pizza peel is a wooden handle and metal portion where the pizza rests on. Don't know if yours has a bolt running through the peel portion and the handle, with a locking nut on the opposite side of the bolt. It should just tighten up. Looking back I should have boughten an all wooden one. I store mine all stretched out, ready to use, that way I am not always retightening the handle.Large, small, and a mini

Your handle could be assembled "upside down". Mine has a notch cut out of the handle where it meets the metal part so that when I tighten the screw it keeps the metal part from turning. Jer

You're right Jer_inva...that is exactly what happens with mine...now...off to the kitchen to see if it's assembled wrong.
Thanks!

I love BGE, but that thing is really sub-standard. I looked at them at Eggtoberfest and was less than impressed. I decided on this one. It's not as easy to store, but I'm not likely to dump a pie either.

J have same one that Bowhunr does. Got it at a kitchen supply store. I Cut 4 inches off the handle so it fits on top of fridge. Very Sturdy and easy to assemble pizza right on peel.

Of course if you have the tools, it is pretty easy to make a wooden peel: Make Your Own Peel That way you can control the size and shape of everything to get exactly what you want.

Mine from BGE was a gift and my review of it is the same as Bowhunr. Substandard. Since it was a gift, I'll hang on to it and just balance carefully when removing a pie off the Egg.
