I know the rule of thumb is 1.5 to 2 hours for each pound on a butt; what if I am cooking two 5 lb

butts at once? Do I estimate for a 5 lb butt or a 10 lb butt? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but 1st time I have cooked 2 at once.

it would be 1.5-2 * 5lbs (as long as they aren't touching)context is important

suppose there is a crack in the butts lol

Should only be a slight increase in time, only because of the heat sink rate of the extra piece.
Make sure you check internal temp. for both. Sometimes one will cook faster than the other ...

Seems reasonable to assume it will be more time due to the larger mass in the cooker but also increased surface area will lower the time. I would put the probe in the smallest one and start checking the other one around 185.
I grill therefore I am.....not hungy.
