Does anyone have any ideas for making a homemade ash removing tool? They look simple enough, but $16.99 on this side of the border for one seems a bit much!!

I use my ash tool as a wiggle rod to stir the lump as well so that brings my cost down to $8.50 per tool. >-Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

I found an old wok spatula ... I just need to trim it a bit more and it will be ready for service.
Thanks to all of you with your suggestions ... much appreciated!

I went and got a 5 gallon bucket and a bucket head shop vac from home depot. The hose fits right into the bottom vent of the large and medium. $20.
