Louisville KY Eggfest

Great time had by all in Louisville last weekend. This was my first time cooking for the public, let alone cooking for a competition. Their competition was a pork specific competition. We hung out in the parking lot all night cooking a couple of butts which I brined, injected and rubbed generously with some Dizzy Dust. Butts were foiled and covered in a cooler well before the start of the fest. We started the fest by cooking some pizza, pork loins, corn, and ABTs. For the competition I decided to present the pulled pork as sliders, on hawaiian rolls, and topped with a ABT held on with a toothpick. Kind of a pulled pork slider dagwood.

Thank you. We had lots of fun. The picture of what we turned in is not the best but it gets the point across. We cleaned up the plate and hit it with a little sauce before handing over.

Yeah, we were lucky and got everything cleaned up and made it home for a nap prior to that mess rolling in. My first thought was how horrible it would have been if it had hit while we were out there. I wouldn't mind hitting the Lexington fest this weekend but not sure if I can swing that one.
