If you go to the Eggs By the Bay website and look under recipes you will find the recipe for Richs' Tri Tip Santa Maria Style. Follow the instructions and it is amazing.. I wish all cooks were that simple. It produced the most moist and tender tri tip I have ever had... of the flavor was EGGCELENT

I cooked my first one last month (about a three pounder) for the first time and have cooked three more since then. It's great when you try something new for the first time and fall in love with it.
I rubbed the meat with olive oil and then added some Dizzy Dust on each side. Subsequent cooks I used Dizzy Pig Red Eye Express and Cow Lick Steak Rub. All were awesome. The roasts generally weigh about 2 - 2 and a half pounds at my butcher shop.
I cooked mine at about 375 degrees indirect and grilled twenty minutes each side before checking temp. I then cooked another 5-10 per side until meat reached 127 - 130 degrees. Remove, cover and rest for about 10 minutes. Its out of this world. One more thing...make sure you cut the meat across the grain for tender slices.
Real easy. Good luck!!!
