Turned 45 this weekend and summer has arrived around here so we threw a little shindig. There was a bit too much wine and visiting involved for pictures of the event but a few of the prep.

Made 16 pounds of pulled pork two weeks ago that I froze in food saver bags, warmed that up for a couple of hours in the oven at 250 with a tin of coke. Worked great.

Then yesterday I did a fast brisket cook ala Julie, Pat and Richard.

While the brisket was resting I did up a grid of chicken thighs rubbed with raging river not pictured and another rack of the same thighs but wrapped in bacon.

I got gifts. I really was not expecting gifts. First though beware of Doug:
