    Dale,
It was nice meeting you and your ABTs were very good. Like I said yesterday, I was surprised they were not hot. I was expecting the heat but there was none there.

I did learn a few new things at the EGGFEST as well. Thanks for all the information as it will make me a better EGGER. This is one thing that is good about this Forum as well as the EGGFESTS.

    Thank you.

Congrats on the PC award Dale!

I got wrapped up in what I was doing and never made the rounds to meet some of the fellow Egg Forum members - it was my first time cooking and I got a bit preoccupied. :woohoo:

Thanks for posting some pictures. I packed my little camera, and completely forgot to take any.

Oh well, GREAT weather and a fun event!

    edit:

Forgot to ask - heard some people talking about somebody wrapping meat in wet/salty towels and thrown on the coals - anybody got the scoop?

  • Hey guys,

I think I finally fell normal! I just now sat down jump on here. Thanks for the posts and kind words Dale.

This year was an amazing event. The temperature was 30 degrees cooler than the two years prior, and the food gets better every year. The most interesting thing done, was the bar towel BBQ. Pork loin, tri-tip and short ribs wrapped tightly in a moistened towel. The towel was lined with kosher salt before tying it down with twine. The EGG was up over 550 degrees and the towels were put directly onto the hot coals...no cooking grate in the EGG.

It was the oddest thing I have seen, although the flavor was incredible. Kudos to the BIG BOYS behind those grills, probably a combined 800 lbs between the 3 of them.

If someone can explain in easy terms how to post pictures, I wil do so tonight. Otherwise, my web guy is putting up over 400 pictures onto my website tonight. I will post a new topic with the link to that page when it is done. I will also post an EGGfest recap.

Thank you to all that came to the event, especially our forum friends. You guys are awesome!

    Shad
