I use the plate setter and a drip pan myself. 350 degrees for about 1.5 hours to 2 and then crank it up to 450 for about 20 minutes or so to brown it better.
-
Either way. Try it inverted on the stand.

I do raised direct.

Like Steven suggested, I do mine inverted, over a drip pan at 350 for 1 1/2-2 hours.

Butt up, direct/indirect -your call- Salt skin 1 hour before cooking (it is salt don't go wild), remove any excess salt with dry paper towel. Massage the lady with your favorite rub, follow directions posted for cooking time and temp. You will have some very crispy skin-yum and very moist meat. And that is good eatsLarge, small and mini now Egging in Rowlett Tx
