Hi.
I am looking for a recommendation for a wireless digital thermometer that can tell me meat temperature and internal temperature of my egg.
Thanks!
Eggheadbrown.

Look at the Maverick ET-732 $59.99 including s/h on the web.

GG has it right, I've got that unit and it works fine!Visit my blog, dedicated to my Big Green Egg Recipies at http://www.bigtsbge.blogspot.com You can also follow my posts on FaceBook under the name Keep On Eggin' or the link http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Keep-On-Eggin/198049930216241

I agree. I have had mine just 3 weeks but it has worked great for me. Alarms even allow it to wake you up if something goes wrong,

I have the bge version and have no compleants. You can read it on the unit or on the remote anywhere in the house.

I bought the Maverick ET-73 (older model of the ET-732) on Amazon last week for 32.95. The 73 is the same model as the one BGE sells.

Just my $.02...but I would go ahead and spend the money on the newer version. I have the old version, and I am thinking of upgrading. It has a better range, and higher temp rating on the probes. I forgot about the temp on the 73 and I may have fried the probe when I did a reverse sear on my list prime rib. Doh! :pinch:
Oh well...now I have an excuse to buy the new one.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
Huh. I didn't realize you could use the Mav for pit temps as well as meat temps. Learn something new every day. Is there any special trick to mounting the second probe on or near the grate? Just get one of those silicone alligator clippy things?
I may have to rethink this whole notion of getting a Stoker.

Thanks for all the replies!
How do I attach the internal temperature probe to my BGE?

Go to Walmart/Radio Shack/ any car parts store and pick some alligator clips.
Compress the 'wire' end of the clip so the insertion of the probe is tight. DO NOT tighten the clip when it is over the probe.
You then have a clip that will clip the grid or a pan or what ever. If you insert the meat probe about mid level (horizontally) you can clip the pit prob on the end of the meat probe. Allow about 2" between the meat and probe.
There is a Visual on my FAT/Links post.

I wonder if BBQ's Galore carries the Mav?... I know where I'm headed after work!

They do carry the MAV ET73, but at a premium price. I bought my first there for ~60 bucks with tax. I just bought my second at amazon for 35 with free shipping.
Hope it helps.
Cheers,

Spend the extra money and get the ET-732 would be a very wise choice.
