Well I finally did, I broke down and decided to buy the full package for the "Adjustable Rig" from the ceramic grill store.
I unpacked it yesterday afternoon and it looks amazing! It is all stainless steel construction and very easy to use. I ordered the 1/2 grill and some welding gloves also. The 1/2 grill is very heavy duty and well constructed too.
I had called Tom to discuss what I need and after talking, he suggested just buy the kit. It shipped that day as he promised and was here is a 3 days!
It is perfect for multiple pork butts or ribs .. I am going to test it out tonight but I think the accessories like the plate setter may be up for sale!
If you have a green egg, I would buy as much as you can from this store. Class A and very well designed.

Did you order a round or oval stone?Large & MiniMax in Lexington, KY
-
I ordered the round stone but the oval grill.
-
I remain confused on whether to order the oval or round stone.
-
Depends on what else you are ordering and how you are planning on using the stone. The oval stone will not work in the spider if you are planning on using the spider to hold your stone. The circular stones are probably a little more versatile, where the oval stones are perfect for large racks of ribs, tenderloins, etc. Call Tom and discuss it with him. I hear he is excellent at helping people get it exactly what they need for how they intend to use his products.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

Going to order mine this week along with items for the small.Large, small and mini now Egging in Rowlett Tx

Decisions decisions! :woohoo:
-
You will not regret it!! I bought the round stone as it will allow me to indirect cook anything. The oval can only be used with the oval grill.
Tom is a great help. -
Keep the plate setter. I have both, and use each frequently.

What is this 'adjustable rig' you speak of?
