I was fortunate enough to taste a version of egret's chilli at Loneyfest '10.(Clark)Missippiegger was kind enough to concoct a batch and bring it for all of us to enjoy.ENJOY we did! ABSOLUTELY the BEST CHILLI I ever tasted!Well,this ain't egret's but it was tastee on a chilly,damp N.MS nite.I started out with chilli,sans beans and cornbread.I cannot understand why anyone would eat this ...

Okay - I've made up a word to describe this "Hoss-some" - this looks dayum good to me. Cornbread or crackers - either would be a great combo with this monster chili (and beans of course)! :laugh:

Hoss: It ain't Chili without beans!!! Well, perhaps a sloppy Joe, or something to maybe top a hot dog, but not Chili! Looks awesome! :laugh: And I am definately a Fritos or Tortilla chips on the side type.

Lookin' good there, Hoss! My Father is from Ft. Worth and he likes beans in his chili! :laugh: Actually, most of those Texans are closet beaners, anyway! :woohoo: Hmmmmmm, I think I'll whip up a batch to take to the Florida fest!!

Looks like yummy-in-the-tummy for sure! My favorite is a recipe from a 'Marlboro Country' cookbook that I happened upon back in the 80's. The result is a mix of many flavors which includes kidney & refried beans. With green onions & melted cheddar on top, it's high up on the 'comfort-food' list.
