I have been doing Artisan Bread in Five minutes a day and had a whole wheat loaf ready to go when the Jenn-Air gas oven (ignitor) quit. Bread is READY to bake. What to do? Easy, fire up the Egg. Should be ready in a few. It will probably be better with a slightly higher temp. First loaf in the Egg.

I'm a crummy baker, but every loaf I've done in the Egg has turned out better than the kitchen stove. I think it must be that the moisture retention in the Egg is much better.

ive never plugged my stove in  you dont need igniters to light a gas stove, matches work. i would have done it in the egg anywaysfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I suppose any excuse to use the egg is a good one.

Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day is made for beginners and veterans alike. Google it. I agree with the moisture thing since steam in the oven is always a desirable addition.
