I Saw the New Super-Large Egg at Barbeques Galore

It is OBESE! I was stunned at this monster Egg. The price tag, without nest, was $1119.99, so you can save a penny. Add $98 for California tax. I didn't bother to look at the price of the nest it was in. I wonder how you're supposed to move it.

Ok, so will us short people need a stepladder to cook on that beast?Large, small and mini now Egging in Rowlett Tx

Joan:
It was normal height, fat and squat. I lifted the lid--it had the DFMT on, but the screw was not in the right position so it wouldn't fall off ((about 5:30) so I fixed it, then lifted the lid--and it was really heavy. Huge cooking area. I'm 5'4" and it was a good height for cooking.Judy in San Diego -
No pictures - didn't happen. Just had to say that!
Seriosly, I would be very interested in a pic or two or a link to one. Is there such? -
When I purchased my first Egg, the XL it was $799.99.
That was 5-6 years ago. I know my pay check has not gone up enough to cover this price jump. :laugh:Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
Judy,
Where in SD is this egg? I'll be out there next week for meetings and wouldn't mind taking a look at it. Also do you have a favorite place for getting your Dizzy Pig rubs, etc?
Thank You.

Did you see this one?

That might be it, the perspective in the photo is deceiving. It was in a nest, not too high.Judy in San Diego

At Barbeques Galore on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. No one in San Diego sells Dizzy Pig rubs. They sell John Henry, though.Judy in San Diego

Thank You. I'll have to check it out since I'll be staying within a mile of Barbeques Galore. Wonder how the John Henry rubs are. Might have to get a couple.

I think the one you saw was like the XL in this picture Judy. The one Tim posted is made out of foam and was used at a show and is not in production.

There was a thread started by who appears to be a BGE staff member, including a press release document regarding a new super sized Egg, which by some accounts seems to be legit. I don't believe that same person posted a picture, but rather another forum member(s) did.....of what turns out to be a marketing prop.
I'm not claiming to have any knowledge, only that because some bought into the prop pic and then were told it was not real, doesnt mean there isnt a new larger unit coming out. -
-
Marc,
It's classified. I could tell you but then I would have to kill you.

If it cost $1299, it was an XL. The Eggzilla photo was of a styrofoam prop. As far as I know, there are no plans to make an Eggzilla. It was a joke. The Naked Whiz

the perspective in the phot is dead-on. that thing is a giant prop :laugh:ed egli avea del cul fatto trombetta -Dante

Steve,
If I recall properly, your whole "egg family" has step-brothers, step-sisters, cousins, adopted brothers and sisters all the same address or under the same roof.
See you soon!Marc -
This is so funny! I went back to the store today to get a chicken roaster, and indeed the "monster" Egg is an XL. I have never seen an XL before and it IS a monster to me!
My apologies to all who believed, along with me, that there's a super-duper humongous Egg out there. I just don't get out much, and shop for Eggs even less.Judy in San Diego -
I think most all of us had figured that out from your very first post, so don't feel bad! The clues were $1,199 and the fact that you are only 5' 4". :laugh:Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

I have a couple more hiding Steve...I know you have a deck full.
Larry -
seriously? you think he's playing with a full deck?  :woohoo: :woohoo:Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Now that's funny Ron.

I was in the BGE store here in Tucker last week. The "Eggzilla" felt like it was made of plastic and the guy at the counter said that, yes, it's just a huge prop made for the trade shows. Still very cool to see in person.
