Beef Stew Direct?

I need all the room I can get today and want to use my medium to do a beed stew. Can I put my CI 7qt Lodge directly over the flame? Usually I do it on BGE Feet on the plate setter in my XL. Will I burn the soup if done this way?

stir it more often and dont use the same temps, bring temps to a slight simmer and cook. inderect its around 325 dome, direct it a little less in my large than 300, so watch the simmer and adjust from there. stir it more often but your good to gofukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I've done direct, but with even a lower temp.
At 300 F. she was a bubbling real good. Take it to 250 F. if you can. -

Should be no problem at a lower heat, just constantly stir it all the time.

its really not needed, just adjust temps fot the correct simmer, lots of dutch ovens have built in feeat to sit directly over the coals on an open style firefukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
