Was getting medium egg HOT for some steaks. Add lots of charcoal and let it run for alot longer than I should. When I came out, the gauge read 200. It was obviously way hotter than 200 wo I open the Egg carefully and it somehow that the gauge had swung past 750 all the way to 200. I think that it was 1,000 degrees but it cooled down to 750 after I put the daisy wheel on.

Motto for me is to never believe the gauge when what it is telling you makes no sense.

Gauge is still working and was still at 210 boiling. I don't liketo get the egg that hot at it's not needed and may cause issues.
