Brisket, cole slaw, and broken plate setter

Took the plate setter out to add more cherry for the burnt ends. Then proceeded to knock it over. It fell in super slow motion. Arghghgh!


After resting a few hours, put the burnt ends on, and started the cabbage for cole slaw:


Burnt ends on, with flat on a bit to top off the heat:


Flat ready to pull:




Plated with slaw:


Kids really like the brisket and slaw. Yeah!

    I'll try JB Weld, and if that doesn't work I'll have some smaller pieces for indirect cooks. Will be OK either way. ;)

    That looks fantastic, it is on my short list of cooks to do. In the mean time, have a barbaque joint that opened next to where I work that makes awsome brisket and Carolina Q. Well done!

    The smoke ring and bark on that brisket is beautiful. I'll bet it was tasty!
