Thermometer issues

Okay, I've had some weird cook time lately like my Easter leg of lamb going an hour and a half longer than expected. So, today I am doing ribs and see that the maverick is at 247 and the dome thermometer is at 200. I pull the thermometer out and give it a bit of a tap and the dial flops to 700! I tap again and it jumps another 200 degrees! I guess my thermometer is dead. Any replacement ideas? Is it a warrantee item?

I'd get a TelTru thermometer. I'd recommend the 5" stem for more accurate readings, but you can get the 2.5" stem and then add 10 percent to the reading to get close. Here's a web page to help:
