Easter Ham Question

I'm smoking a ham using the maple-bourbon ham recipe which involves injecting about a cup of maple syrup. Am I going to be able to inject a spiral cut ham without it oozing out or should I buy a regular bone-in butt or shank?

I would think it would ooze out where it is sliced....just my 2 cents
btw, what time is dinner? I'll bring the lump -
last few years started doing the sprial cut and using fingers to add syrup. for me works much better than the $60 injector I just tossed out.
Also found I like the Grade "B" Maple Syrup better.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers. -

Is Grade B the expensive very sweet kind? That's the syrup I bought.

if you ever shop at Crest on 15th and Sante Fe they carry Ozark Oak for $4.78 a 10lb bag, it's great lump and you can't beat the price....

I've done both. Spiral will make a bit of a mess. But it still works.

All maple is expensive but I do not think anymore than the grade "a".
It is not sweeter but stronger to me.
