The good folks at FireWire are going to host the 1st FireWire Kabob Challenge at the Oklahoma Eggfest on April 17th!

Every cook who wishes to participate will be given a FireWire and a numbered styrofoam container similar to those used in competitions.

Each participant will be asked to turn in their most tasty, unique and creative kabob. Entries must be turned in by 12:30 PM during the fest and our assembled panel of expert judges will choose the champion.

Judging will be blind as all entries must be submitted in the closed styrofoam container.

More to come later but be thinking...

Should be a fun time and Happy Egging!

Chris, will the entry have to be presented on the wire in the box or just cooked on the wire? -RP
  • Hey Randy-

The idea is to turn it in on the wire. You can do shapes or sculpture with the wire if you like as long as it fits in the box.

I am a complete amateur cook, but I think I could come up with something tasty for a kabob!

    Personally...

I'm sorry to see this happening.

Seems as if at more and more of the Fests the norm is becomming "Challenges",
"Competitions","Throwdowns"...ect. Of course...one more thrilling than the rest, or the last.

No slight to those who enjoy these type of things..it's just not why i first attended an EggFest...(or would be inclined to so now).
