Calling Toronto-Area Eggers. Need help with a dem

Folks,

The kind people at Ontario Gas BBQ have asked me to do a BGE demo day for them. It takes place Saturday April 3rd (yes it's the long weekend) from 10am - 3pm.

Does anyone want to help me out?

Here's the deal:

- I'm doing this as a favour to them as their last demos were less than successful. I'm not sure about compensation, so I can't promise anything, but I'm going to talk to Duff (the owner) when he gets back on March 23

- They only have one demo egg. I've asked for another,as I really want to demo high heat cooking as well as something longer

- They will be paying for all the food

- They have a tent for inclement weather.

- The purpose is to really show off the egg, and get people excited about it.

If you're interested in giving me a hand that day, let me know. I really only need one more to help me out.

By help, do you mean someone bring they're own egg to the demo? I could possibly help that Saturday but I can't bring my egg. Too big and I'd probably break it!

No, I wouldn't expect someone to bring their Egg.. Heck, I'm not bringing mine either.

They are supplying an Egg (I'm trying to get two). All I really need is someone to help with setup and cooking and to evangelize our beloved green eggs to people coming to the store.

Not sure what plans we have yet. Might be able to get talked into it though.
Demo cook of Egret's Maple Bourbon Ham would be appropriate for the weekend.

I'm trying to get them to give me more than one egg to demo. It'd be too hard to demo everything it can do.

I was thinking about possibly doing some pulled pork or a brisket on mine the night before.

Ok, so the demo is on...

I've been told that we'll get $10 per hour at the demo. It's not much, but better than a kick in the arse .. so whoever is in to help (I really only need one, max two more people) please let me know ASAP,

I'll have 2 eggs, a tent, and a table. I'm hoping to get a clean non-used egg to show people the features as well (pull one from the showroom).


I'll probably just cook things that are easy to demo. a whole chicken (flattened) on one, as well as probably some steaks to show hi heat. Unfortunately it'll be tough to demo low and slow given the logistics.

Jasper: you in? If not, any other takes?

I'll probably show up to help and/or join in the fun. However, I don't expect compensation nor can I commit to the full five hours because if I get paged for work emergency I need to drop everything. But again, I don't get called often.

LOL.. that is exactly why I volunteered to do this for them. I really felt bad for Ontario Gas BBQ. The demo was terrible, and didn't show anything that the BGE can do.
