Paul,
Someone likes what you are doing with the Egg and now they want to expand your capabilities. Very nice.
Recommend you season the wok. I followed this process except didn't use peanut oil - use crisco or bacon fat.

I got my wok from Tom, and use it quite a bit. Flat iron fajitas are a family favorite. Quick and easy, and very tasty.

you always wok with no fire ring or was that just for seasoning?Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Traditional fat used for seasoning in China is lard, I believe. So bacon fat is probably closer than crisco. I used peanut oil, and was not pleased with the original seasoning. It took a couple months of regular cooking, and one long cooking session at an eggfest this summer to get a good season on my wok. After that eggfest, the finish was really nice and non-stick. I will not be using oil to season a wok again...or cast iron, for that matter.

That was just for seasoning.
