new mini hinge vs. old hinge

I understand that the hinge on the Mini has been changed. I bought a Mini a few months ago, and I'm wondering if I should swap out the hinge. The push-pull action on my present hinge is a bit clumsy. Has anyone changed the old hinge for the new one?

    My understanding is when the supply of existing mini's has been shipped from Atlanta, the new ones will be available. Last I asked the hinge was not available as a purchase item yet. Either as a replacement or on new eggs. When is the question
