New Mini Travel Crate/ Stand

The new stand got a workout at the mini fest.
It was built to fit in my trunk and lay flat while transporting the egg. It has hinges that allow it to become a stand for cooking. There is a shelf on both sides. Still needs a finish on it, but it worked great.

    Pretty darn nice...

The last picture says it all Faith, perfect sign.

  • Thank you GG. I spent more time on those letters than it took to build the whole table!!!

    Faith,

That looks neat. Is a handle change imminent?

 That's always the way it goes. Nevertheless, almost the most important part of the table too.

I think I am going to build something pretty close to the same, aaaah other than the letters of course. :)

thats really nice. been thinking lately it would be nice to have a mini sitting in a window box in the winter to save my self the trip down the hill in the snow, maybe something like that on a slide to move it quickly in and out the window when its cold out.

I am kinda with Steve. Don't change the letters, but rather the handle.

    Faith,

Never thought of that. I guess you would need at least a medium for that eh? ;)

Great design. I'm impressed and that's coming from a sawdust maker.

    fishlessman,

You could use it in the fireplace if you have one. I have a 900 cfm range hood and I am so tempted to use it on the stove but the wife would nix that in a heartbeat.

if i ever start the kitchen project a range hood is first on the list, i really smoke the place out sometimes and its just a little galley sized kitchen. i couldnt breath deeply for a few days last year from some thai peppers in the wok, phone rings and a few seconds later im dead, burnt lungs and eyes. maybe two vents with one fan and a bypass switch for the duct work. :) my eggs are at the bottom of one slippery icey slope
  • Nice crate Faith

    fishlessman,

I know what you mean. Before the fire we had one of those hoods with the charcoal filter that didn't exhaust. It was useless for smoke and worse on capcium vapour. I've put the whole family outside on more than one occasion when I have got some good chilis. A friend of mine is Swiss and he has a fireplace grill that swings in and out on an arm with a helm joint. The whole bracket drops in to a small hole in the hearth. Apparently they are common in continental Europe. I don't see why you couldn't use a mini.

Very nice! Super that your table folds down for transportation. I'm workin on a table for my mini and it sure will be great to have a little work surface just to keep food up off the ground.
Again nice work... and I like the custom sign!

Faith, that is way too functional  . Really planned it out so it works. I like it!

Guess you could patent the design and sell a million of them with mini eggs to tailgaters across the USA!
