Dome and Gasket Problem

I replaced my gasket on my medium. I'm playing hell trying to get it to pass the $ bill test in the rear. The rest of the dome has a great seal. I've tried the quarter trick, pushing down on the dome, cussing, and tried to get a new set of bands at the mothership. No luck. Nothing seems to help.
I have noticed on both of the bands I can over tighten and loose my seal. If I back off the bands develop some play.
Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated. This has been going for a week now and I'm at wits end.
Thanks in advance.
Jim

I'm having some seal issues too. I am 3 hours in to my first smoking and I'm noticing skoke coming from the rear. Could it be that I didn't tighten the nuts down enough? Should I wait to finish cooking and let it cool down before tightening again?

Yes,let the egg cool down before tightening anything ;)
