Does anyone remember if this piggy was cooked on a large or an Extra-Large? Thanks?

It was a large Todd.

Thanx Larry, I think they said it weighed 58lbs, does that sound right?
-
That sounds about right Todd. They said he started it at home and finished it at the fest.

That pig sure was a crowd pleaser, but it wasn't much fun for the folks cooking downwind. All that white smoke from the fat burning was enough to make you choke.
-
I think it was 62 lbs and Bryan had cut 6 inches of the back bone out so it would set in the egg. Here is a couple of picture I have.

As you know I was cooking on the Egg right next to this bad boy. You're right that the smoke was pretty acrid coming off it. A well positioned drip pan could have improved it. Didn't taste bad however. -
Hi John. Yes, you were right next door! It's surprising your prawns didn't pick that odor up! Look forward to seeing you next week. Mark

was his setup just the wad of tinfoil shown, any other barrier. wonder if a pan piped thru the lump down out the bottm vent for drainage would have helped. must have been a ton of grease, surprised it didnt snuff out the firefukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Hey fish. Yeah, I think so. The smoke was billowing and very thick at times and like Roudy said, "acrid."
-
I think Bryan and Mia made the drip pan out of foil. They cooked the pig the night before at home and finished cooking it for 4 hours on Saturday.A lot of the grease was gone but there was enough left to really smoke. It was fun to watch.
