Greetings I'm a new Egghead. My family gave me a large Egg for christmas. I cooked in it on new years day. I cooked Babby Backs and ABTs. I'm 50 years old and this is the first time I have cooked ribs on a grill, but it want be the last. My Daughter-In-Law said the only thing that would make them better was to eat them in bed. That's an image I just can't get out of my head.

Looks great but to clarify, you definitely did NOT cook those ribs on just a grill...you cooked them on an EGG!!!!

Welcome to the Cult! You will find it very enjoyable. I got my first Egg in July (Large) and have already gotten a second (Medium).
This forum is great for learning. Peruse it at least a few times a week (minimum) and never hesitate to post a question. People are very helpful and enjoy helping those of us who are new.

Bill as a matter of fact I've got my eye on a mini. As far as how thing were cooked I just followed the directions in the owners manual for the ribs. I think it came from Dr, BarBeque. Teh ABTs came off the Greenegg web sit under the video section.

Welcome to the Cult.
There's a lot of things you'll try from now on that will be better than your ever had before and things you'll eat that you never would have thought to eat before. :P -

Like you I just tried the Ribs from the owner's manaul and it was outstanding! I've tried most of those in the manual by now so my wife gave the full BGE cookbook for Christmas. I am certainly looking at other recipes for different types of food. However, I have little interest in doing a different recipe for the same food (ribs, turkey, salmon etc) since, while it might be just as good, it couldn't be any better than what I have tried.
The only thing I have had that wasn't just superb was a chicken and rice casserole that is a family recipe that we always did in the oven. I had overcooked it. However, after getting input from this forum, I tried it again a few weeks later and it was much better than the oven.

Welcome to the formum. It almost a little sad that you never cooked ribs on another smoker. You have alot of new tasty experiences ahead. I used a brinkman and then a weber kettle before getting a LBGE. With those it is so much more work constantly adding chips and adjusting the temp.

Welcome aboard! I guess the image of the daughter in law is better than a daughter....

I'll second Tomm24 comments. I have done ribs on a series of grills - they all rusted out - but, none will compare with the Egg. Welcome to Eggdom. There are a great group of people on the forum. Need help- they are there for you.
