The steak below is a nice NY Strip measuring in at about 1.35 inches. I marinated for 5 hours in equal parts of soy, Worchester and bourbon. [p][p]It wasn't as done as the next picture indicates... you would think that after a while I'd remember to use the macro setting.[p][p]Picture may not be perfect, but the steak was![p]What does this have to do with green peppers? Absolutely nothing, they were last night - recipe is on my web site.[p]Life is GOOD :~}

Gfw,
    I don't want to start a war but, that cut of meat looks familar to a cut of meat called a KC Strip long before NY adopted it.

  • Car Wash Mike,[p]The cut is the strip loin. It's called KC strip in some parts of the country and NY strip in even more parts of the country. Curiously it's not known as NY strip in NY at all. Not sure if it's called KC in KC, though.[p]Full of useless food trivia,[p]Todd

    Seattle Todd,
    I'm in the KC area. It is definetly called a KC Strip here.
    The big restaurants, ones that I mentioned, swear NY adopted the name years after the cut was coined KC Strip. Just joking around with the verbage of different states.[p]
