I read or heard somewhere from folks that compete with BGE's prefer a charcoal grate made from expanded metal (expando), if so what size would you suggest? I've got a Large I may drag with me next season.

it really doesnt hold up well if you do much with high temp cooks, if your looking to increase some airflow a better option would be to just raise your existing grate a 1/4 inch on some bolts. somone here probably has a picture. for low and slows the standard grate is fine though. ive burnt thru a couple different grates now and found a piece of high temp inconel which i made into a really high temp lump grate, i needed something more durable.fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
