    i don't think you'll find anyone near the seacoast that would plank scallops. no offense.

    a scallop on a plank is an indirect scallop, and an indirect scallop is a baked scallop.

    baked scallops?!?!?!

    go direct, or sear in cast iron.

    did some scallops direct today at the patriots games (they lost, by the way. first regular season game that they lost since, oh, i dunno DECEMBER OF 2006!! nearly two frigging years ago) . but i digress;

    scallops need a little carmelization, and if you go indirect, you will have done them a disservice...
