Well, I decided this was the perfect weekend for a low and slow, so I bought a couple of 8lb butts and iced down some libations. This time I decided to throw some ribs on for the first 4 hours. I started the cook at 4 pm, took the ribs off for dinner around 8:30, and the butts were at 195 about 7:30 am. Everything turned out great. Here are the pics. Enjoy!!! I sure did...

Also, our thoughts go out to everyone on the Texas and Louisiana coast who were affected by Hurricane Ike.

Sam, that is a great combination, every time I do a brisket, I figure since the egg is smok'n anyway, why not throw some ribs on top, they don't take as long, I set it up the same way you have it but with a rib rack, 3 full racks cut in half making the full rib rack set-up about the same size as the brisket, & for at least 3 hours, the brisket gets a nice HogFat shower as the ribs render, it's beautiful
