OT: Forum pic download question?

I'm putting togeather pics from our ride out west and can't narrow them down to less than about 30 or 40 pics at 640x480. Don't want to spend an hr explaining them and trying to down load on the forum only to get told the totoal post size is to big!! :blink: I have posted a lot of pics in a post but never this many. Is there a size limit on a post and the amount of pics in it and if so how do you tell when you need to start a reply to the original post so as not to over load it?

I don't know the answer other than to say it may take some folks a long time to load and they might bounce out.

Possibly break it down to several posts or link to the pictures. Most folk will jump to the link and view I would think.

Just some ideas.

Try pinging WessB, he and a few others have many pics loaded somewhere and you just go there . Eggs by the Bay does this also.

True. I'll put a warning in the topic about pic numbers. It's just for some of the folks that have been asking about the great things we saw out in your neck of the woods!

i dont know what the max is either, but after about 5 pics that size, the rest come out on my end as red x boxes which require a right click and show picture for each frame. gets to be painfully slow to get the whole post open with much more than 5 pics

Yea I know. They use some other server or something like that to download the pics on then set up a link. I bareley know how to download to Photobucket and post hear. Trying to keep simple as summer is a hectic time to learn new computer skills!! :laugh:

Well I want all to be able to see if they want to so thats what I'll do. Five pics each post and I will just reply to my own post till I get them all up. Thanks. That will work. Got to get to Egging as work tonight and Egging supper for the guys as on of them is his last night at work and moving.

i think you can set up a separate album in photobucket with or with out slide show function and provide the link . i will look into it. stay cool .

You could make the post. If it doesn't work it won't be long before folks let you know.

You could then go in the original post edit to show less pictures then repost with fewer pictures.

It would be interesting to know the answer.

On the link above there is no 'next' button. There is a slideshow button but PB is wants a login PW.

Clicking the picture takes me to a blank screen.

Sure hope the pictures are larger then in the post.

But I couldn't see a 'next' button on YB's link above.

When I click it on here it has 2 small picture next to the large one that has a back and forward...PB is strange.

Thanks for helping friends!! I'm cooking Egged beans which are off and now doing pork stake direct so got to stay with it. Work in 1 1/2 hrs. so will check back to thread latter. Yea bill I thought about link to photo bucket but didn't want some troll crusing threw everything. (Got those late night Smoke Shack pics in there of me running naked ringing a chicken neck :laugh: !) Thanks again for the help. May take a few days but bill can tell you there are some really good ones as well as just good ones!!lol
