Ok,The digital timer temp Thermo bit the dust and rather than buy one to replace it, I have decided on a stoker. Yah I know...cheating, but hell, I'm worth it.
The question is, what all do I need to go with it?
Most of it is how many probes and how many eggs are you cooking with.
Looking for some advice. I am doing 4 butts in a couple weeks and could use it then. Time is short. Help is required.

You can get 4 butts on a large. I got the basic system loaded. But, getting ready to add an extra fan and probes. There is a small learning curve.

Mike, do you get 4 butts on one grid, or go with 2 level setup?

2 levels. I have only done it once, AZRP just had a rehersal dinner for his daughter's wedding. He had some good pics.
I had to rotate to get good bark on all 4.

AS CWM said but also add enough probes for your 4 butt cook.

If you have more eggs and plan to dual cook then add, fans & probes accordingly.

If your using 1 egg, then get as many probes for as many pieces of meat you have. If your using 2 pits, then get an extra fan and as many probes for as many pieces of meat you have.
You can get the splitter from Stoker or Radio Shack sells them as well...

Make sure you learn how to shut off the fan before you open the lid. Its a few clicks on the buttons, but it will save you a headache.

Next question. How big a fan did most of you go with.

Ricky, I'd suggest two pit probes, one for the dome and one for grid level. I've learned a lot by tracking both temperatures.

i've had my stoker for well over a year. i have a large and bought the 5CFM fan. it's plenty big enough.

I'm also happy in the Stoker Camp, I like the 5 cfm fan as opposed to the 10 cfm option on my larges. I don't like to blow ash on the back half of a long cook.
