Low Temp help for XL

I've had a XL for about 4 months and am thoroughly enjoying it. Have learned a lot from following the forum threads.
I seem to have a problem maintaining consistent low temps (200-250) on my XL. Always seems to creep up on me.
Can any other XL users give me some hints about their vent and flywheel setting that they use to get consistent low temps?
Thanks.

Thanks for the pics. That's a big help. Amazing how closed off you have to get it to get those low temps.

No problem man, that's what we're here for That XL will chug along all day with that set-up(trust me,I've done it) :woohoo: Don't forget, you need to get your fire going a little before you shut it down to this level

You've got some great advice from doug. If I could add one thing it would be. The XL loaded with platesetter has a lot of thermal mass to heat up. I have tried to sneak up on the temp and it can take up to an hour or more to get a stable temp.
The more you use it the quicker you will understand it. Good luck
