We live in the desert southwest and a wood BBQ cart just doesn’t fit in our area. Our homes are primarily Stucco, terracotta tile, cactus and gravel yards. How about a few ideas and pics of alternative BBQ cart builds. I’m thinking of cast concrete or tile top tables. What about the under structure?
I like the nest and mates but my wife wants more prep space. Counting the day until we return and get the BIG GREEN EGG!

Check out the Naked Wiz website. There is a section with dozens of tables and ideas. My table is all Stainless which may get a little hot in the desert. Make sure you have plenty prep area, landing area for hot plate setters and stones, grill and utensil hanging and of course the bottle opener. Welcome aboard!

It depends on whether you are building a "cart" or a "table". Does it have to be moveable or can you set it up in one permanent location?
If you can go with the latter, you have lot's of possibilities! Lot's of folks have built outdoor kitchens with masonry base and stone finish.
If it has to be mobile, I don't know what you could use because it's going to be HEAVY! Maybe steel with a concrete or stone top. The wheels will need to be larger and pneumatic. Casters won't do you any good on gravel.
Keep us posted, sounds like an interesting problem!
Check this one out, it's in Birmingham Al.:

What about using cyder blocks and facing it with stucco to match the house? The top is your choice?

Now Randy that is what I call a mobile kitchen...is that an ice chest on wheels also???
I love it.... -
Yeah, I got that a Sam's Club, and it is great! Even with our heat it will keep ice for 3 days. Holds one heck of a lot of beer and soda. -RP

Made with steel studs and concrete backer board.
