I completed my new nest last night. 6 coats of MinWax
Clear Satin Spar Urethane. Made from TNW plans with a
couple of modifications. Most notably is the towel bar
on the one end. Prep area in a piece of 18"x18" kitchen
tile from Home Depot. The Egg will be resting on a
16X16 paver when she settles in this evening. Was a fun
build.

Just so folks don't think this is strictly a Georgian love-fest, this Oregonian thinks your nest is pretty cool, too!

Very Nice. I am in the process of building my new nest for "Joe" my LBGE. I have looked over your photos and you have given me a couple good ideas.
Photos to follow when mine is complete. -
Very nice, thanks for the pics.

Very nice clean work. The six coats of Poly was a good idea. I only used three on mine and now have to clean it up a bit and give it several more coats.

A project well done! I wish BGE used screws instead of nails on my table. You should not have to worry about those boards warping. They used screws on the frame but not on the top.Might have to ping Bobby.

Very nice table. It is something you will be certain to enjoy for many years to come. Getting my eggs out of their nests was the best thing I ever did--makes using them much more enjoyable.Larry

Hey RP,
is that the secret to moving your eggs? i can see it now an egg being airlifted into a new table or nest..
i took a bunch of shots once of a guy that used to fly his helo upside down 8" above the ground and do some other neat tricks. there is a huge RC flight park in ABQ i used to go to several weekends a month just for pics. i will try to find them and post. -
Gorgeous table!! Where in Ga are you ?

Here is the finished table with the egg nestled in it's new home

Big'un,
We are in the Augusta area, Martinez to be exact.
Thanks for the compliments.. It was fun to build and
will last a long time. Need to thank my wife for doing
all the varnish work. Gotta love a woman who is not afraid to sweat.
