Great pics......I don't see the egg though....
-
Thank you...The eggs are in the background and will be burning tonight.

We have owls, too -- sitting demure in trees, filling the night with questions.
In winter, they eat stray cats, and call out to each other, "Oh, hoooooo, that'n was good!"
-
So did you cook him?
-John -
Thats funny...These will eat anything they see moving including other birds.
Larry -
I think if I got caught it would be costly.

Yo Larry!
Wow. Owls are my absolute favorite bird. Any animal that flies through the trees at night and catches critters on the run is cool in my book.
But even with the extensive time I have spent in the wilderness, I have not really seen any owls so close and intimate. Those are barred owls right? Very cool, Yardboy!
Well, that's my 2 minutes on the forum for the day! Be well my friend.

Yes they are Barred Owls Chris...It is neat to see 3 or 4 flying through the trees with a 3 or 4 feet wing span. One of them will let me walk with in 10 feet of him.
Larry -
Awesome. They have the coolest call too. HoooooAwww!
I wonder how the camera flash looks to them?? Ouch!
Thanks for the pix mang. Made my day.
Chris -
Great pictures do you know what they are feeding on?
-
Thanks...They feed on snakes, birds, squirrels and mice.I think they will eat anything that moves.
Larry -
Once again, nice pictures. Owls seem so unique. We have a neighborhood owl, but couldn't get good enough picture like you did. One thing I find fascinating, are the little pellets/bag of their leftovers on the ground full of bones. I have to make a sweep of the backyard on a daily basis to pick them up so my boxers don't get to them.
-
Thanks...They are fun to watch and I hope they stay around for a while.
Larry -
Really Really Bright and they see green spots for ten minutes after.
